Sets refer to groups of three or more cards with the same face value, irrespective of their suit. The suit refers to the design printed on the cards, such as Spades, Aces, Diamonds or Hearts.
On the other hand, suits refer to groups of three or more consecutive cards that belong to the same suit.
Now, during the game, players can:
- i) draw cards from the “discard” pile or “draw pile”.*
- ii) discard weaker or unneeded cards
*Note: After each player has received their cards, the remaining cards are stacked face down, to form the draw pile. The topmost card from this card is kept face up next to this pile, to form the discard pile.
After either drawing or discarding, they must group the cards into suits and sequences to win.

- i) Indian Rummy
- ii) Gin Rummy

The player who has made the valid sets or sequences, which add up to zero points, declares by calling “Rummy” or “Gin Rummy” and so on, depending on the game being played. |
